Dating back to 1869, the land value of this town skyrocketed and was then sold to a Montana businessman by the Bixby Investment Company. Homes started popping up in the 1930′s and were highly desirable because the community was within walking distance to the Lakewood Country Club. Years later the residents composed highly of Douglas Aircraft Company employees and attributed to the communities success and accomplishments.
Location
Often referred to simply as The Village, this northwest Long Beach community is surrounded by the city of Lakewood to the east, west, north and south. Considered a very desirable community, it is bounded by Lakewood Boulevard to the east, Bellflower Boulevard to the west, Del Amo to the south and Carson to the north.

Parks
Pan American Park is in the center of Lakewood Village and is complete with all the normal amenities any park would have like basketball courts, volleyball courts, playgrounds, picnic tables and softball fields. In the last 10 years the park has added an indoor gym, lighting and concession building.
